Shrek the Third will air on the Friday after Thanksgiving, November 25, 2011 (8:00-10:00 p.m. ET) on ABC, according to a November 7 press announcement from ABC. Shrek features the voices of Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz, Julie Andrews, Antonio Banderas and Justin Timberlake.
The King (John Cleese) of Far, Far Away falls ill and passes away and Shrek (Mike Myers) and his pregnant wife, Fiona (Cameron Diaz), find themselves the immediate successors to the throne. Being the thoughtful big green ogre that he is, Shrek is determined to find the real heir to the throne, Fiona's cousin, Artie (Justin Timberlake). Shrek is joined by his faithful companions, Donkey (Eddie Murphy) and Puss in Boots (Antonio Banderas), as they set sail in a search Artie.
Meanwhile, a vengeful Prince Charming (Rupert Evrett) gathers a slew of fairy tale villains to overthrow the new king and, upon their return, Shrek and the young Artie must defend the throne and their kingdom.
