SHRED your fat for good--Dr. Oz and Dr. Smith discuss the SHRED Diet Plan

On today’s episode Dr. Oz has gone wild and is making the audience throw all their fat pants into a cardboard box to get rid of them forever. A 2013 News Years resolution the entire audience is throwing away their large clothes. He also has invited a special guest Dr. Ian K. Smith, MD a nutrition expert.

On this diet drop 4 inches and 2 dress sizes in 6 weeks. Eat regular food from the grocery store and lose weight.

  • Don’t eat the same foods every day.
  • Switch up your food known as “diet confusion” to keep your metabolism going.
  • Space your foods out in equal times (every three hours)

Eat more some days and less the other but always a wide variety to stimulate your metabolism. You can lose 20 lbs on this diet in 6weeks. Dr. Oz put 6 viewers on the plan for 6 weeks. They each had four meals a day for six weeks. They all noticed a higher content of vegetables and fruits. You pack your meals ahead of time and basically eat at the same time every day. Week three and week five were the hardest for most off the six viewers. You get less food in week three. The popular consistency was that the plan got rid of the bloat and made everyone feel a lot better. Meal spacing is extremely important. Meal spacing keeps your hormones and your insulin stable so that you never get over hungry and cause your blood sugar to spike.

Detox to cleanse your liver and your body. Do a blood detox and a physical detox. These happen in week five and week six. By adding lemon and flax oil and seed you can detox your liver. You have pure cranberry juice in week six. During the detox phase you are still eating, you don’t do a juice fast or traditional detox. His book also recommends short fat burning workouts that are 10-15 minutes not an hour or two.
