Showtime announced that it's irreverant comedies "Shameless." "House of Lies" and "Californication" have been renewed in a Jan. 29, 2013 press release. The comedies debut new episodes on the Sunday night lineup of the premium cable channel.
The three comedies returned on Jan. 13 and Showtime reports that the premiere night garnered the highest episodes ever. In the third week of the current season, "Shameless" delivered 2.53 million viewers, the biggest total for the series ever. "House of Lies" delivered 1.4 million viewers, the night yet for the comedy. Californication's third episode of the season attracted 1.05 million viewers.
The Sunday comedy lineup starts at 9 p.m. ET/PT, with "Shameless," from Emmy Award winning television and film producer John Wells. The chaotic comedy is led by William H. Macy and Emmy Rossum. Macy portrays the irresponsible alcoholic father of six youngsters from teens to an infant. The Gallaghers are each trying to find their own version of the "American Dream." The cast includes: William H. Macy as Frank Gallagher, Emmy Rossum as Fiona, Jeremy Allen White as Lip, Cameron Monaghan as Ian, Justin Chatwin as Jimmy, Joan Cusak as Shiela, Zach McGowan as Jody, Ethan Cutkosky, Shanola Hampton, Steve Howey, Emma Kenney, Laura Slade Wiggins, Noel Fisher and Emma Greenwell. "House of Lies" (Sundays at 10 p.m. ET/PT), stars Don Cheadle in his Golden Globe® Award-winning and Emmy nominated performance as Marty Kaan, fast-talking business consultant who leads a hot, young team known as The Pod: Jeannie (Kristen Bell), Clyde (Ben Schwartz) and Doug (Josh Lawson). The series is based on the hit tell-all book from best-selling author Martin Kihn (House of Lies: How Management Consultants Steal Your Watch and Then Tell You the Time). "House of Lies" is in its second season on Showtime. Produced by Showtine, "House of Lies" is created and executive produced by Matthew Carnahan. "Californication" ( 10:30 p.m. ET/PT) stars David Duchovnyas hedonistic novelist Hank Moody, who struggles to be a good father to his college-aged daughter Becca (Madeleine Martin), while still carrying a torch for her mother, and his ex-girlfriend, Karen (Natascha McElhone). Maggie Grace ("Lost") signed for nine episodes to portray rock groupie Faith. Jorge Garcia ("Lost") will appear in two episodes as an old contact from Faith's past. Rocker Marilyn Manson will make a guest appearance. The series is created and executive produced by Tom Kapinos and executive produced by David Duchovny.
