Looking for a good concert this weekend? ShowScoop released an ios app for tour reviews and promises fans that they'll never go to a bad concert again. Many fans have been to a bad concert, or inversely unexpectedly stumbled on a good live show. ShowScoop tries to mitigate that risk by crowdsourcing concert reviews from dedicated fans.
"There are some bands I really like on record that just don't translate well to a live show," said BYU student Teresa Leyner. "I could've used this app last week and not wasted $15 on the Youth Lagoon concert."
Fans can rate a band's live show on a scale of 1 to 5 based on categories like Stage Presence, Crowd Interaction, and for the EDM crowd, Visual Effects. With the launch of the ios app ShowScoop allows fans to record their concert experience in real time. While foodies use Yelp for restaurants or movie buffs use Rotten Tomatoes, ShowScoop aims to be a good resource for the concert-going crowd.
Leyner added, "If you go to a music festival like Coachella it can be hard to organize your festival schedule. ShowScoop can really help with that."
