Showers possible today with a better chance of rain Thursday night and Friday (Video)

High pressure has now moved off to our east. A mild southwesterly flow has become well established across the area. A weakening cold front will move east across northeastern Ohio today. This front has just enough moisture with it to produce a few rain showers. Rainfall amounts will be very light.

The showers and clouds will clear out shortly after noon with skies becoming partly sunny. It will be a mild day with afternoon high temperatures reaching the mid 40s.

It will be partly cloudy across the area tonight with lows falling to the mid 20s.

A storm will strengthen and move northward through the Mississippi and lower Ohio Valleys on Thursday and Thursday night. This system will cause clouds across our area to increase during the day on Thursday with rain showers arriving late in the afternoon. Highs on Thursday will reach the low to mid 40s.

Rain will continue Thursday night and Friday as the storm system moves northward into the Great Lakes. We will remain on the mild side of the system through Friday. Lows Thursday night will fall to the upper 30s with highs on Friday reaching the low 50s.

Weak high pressure will build across the region on Saturday with most locations remaining rain free. It will be quite mild with high temperatures on Saturday reaching the mid to upper 50s.
