Low pressure will gradually lift north of the area today. As it moves through, waves of rain showers and possibly even a thunderstorm or two will move across the area. Some locally heavy downpours are possible. It will be a mild day with afternoon highs reaching the low to mid 50s.
The rain showers will gradually taper off late this afternoon or this evening with skies remaining mostly cloudy tonight. Lows tonight will fall to the mid 40s.
Saturday will feature clouds with a few peaks of sunshine possible. It will be quite mild with afternoon highs around 60 degrees.
By late in the day, clouds will begin to increase once again as another storm system approaches from the southwest. Rain showers could arrive across the western counties by sunset.
Rain will overspread the area from southwest to northeast Saturday night and last through the day on Sunday. Some locally heavy rainfall will be possible. Sunday will be cooler with highs reaching the mid to upper 40s.
A strong cold front will cross the region Sunday night causing the rain to taper to scattered showers. The rain could mix with or change to snow in some areas as colder air settles across the region.
Monday will be mostly cloudy with rain or snow showers likely and highs only reaching the mid 30s.
