A strong and slow moving cold front with an associated upper level trough will finally approach the region and move eastward later today into tonight, with scattered rain showers this morning becoming steady and heavier with perhaps a few thunderstorms by this afternoon and tonight. Some flooding is also possible, especially in western areas where flood watches are in effect through tonight.

Steady rain will gradually end from west to east into early Saturday with a few lingering showers in the morning. Cooler temperatures and less humid conditions will then arrive into the weekend with some additional scattered showers and thunderstorms as an upper level low remains in place behind the front.
