• The Madison County Board of Supervisors’ regular monthly meeting is set for 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 8 in the auditorium of the County Administration Center at 414 N. Main St. in downtown Madison. (Folks hoping for a meaty official agenda for the meeting might find themselves undernourished. Under “Discussion/Action” it lists just three items and only uses two or three words for each item – “facilities update, task force lease and voting district.” There’s no further explanation about any of the three items.) Public commenting is allowed about two hours into the meeting – at around 6 p.m. Each speaker is allowed five minutes to share his or her concerns with fellow citizens and the supervisors.

• The Madison County School Board’s regular monthly meeting is set for 7:30 p.m. Monday, July 14 at its headquarters in the old elementary school building off Fairground Road.

• The Madison County Parks and Recreation Authority’s regular monthly meeting is set for 7 p.m. Monday, July 21 at the authority’s offices, which are in the county-owned farmhouse near the county sports complex behind Madison Primary School.

• The Madison County Board of Supervisors’ workshop is set for 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 22 at the County Thrift Road Complex at 302 Thrift Road in downtown Madison.

• The Madison County Planning Commission’s regular monthly meeting is set for 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6 in the auditorium of the County Administration Center at 414 N. Main St. in downtown Madison.

• The Madison Town Council’s regular monthly meeting is set for 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7 in the town meeting room next to the DMV office in the Peterson Building in downtown Madison.
