Saint Joseph, Michigan is set to award the best light house creations The artists who participate in the City of St. Joseph’s 2014 Shining Sculptures outdoor art exhibit won’t be the only ones whose lighthouse creations brighten downtown. Artists of all ages are invited to light up their imaginations and build their own lighthouses from LEGO bricks as part of the Second Annual Build Your Way Around Town event.
Lighthouse LEGO will be the event’s featured contest the week of March 31. Builders can construct a replica of St. Joseph’s inner or outer light, or get creative and come up with their best lighthouse designs. Participants may enter the contest in one of three age categories: 5 years old and under, 6-12 and 13 and over. A panel will choose winners from each category and award first- and second-place prizes. LEGO lighthouse models must use LEGO or Mega Bloks bricks and be no more than 24 inches tall.
To enter the contest, builders must download a submission form at www.stjoetoday.com/LEGO. Lighthouse models with completed forms should be dropped off April 3-5 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the St. Joseph Today office, 301 State St., St Joseph.
Lighthouse models will be displayed at local businesses and other sites around town until kickoff of the Shining Sculptures exhibit May 16. Models will be available for pickup after the kickoff.
Lighthouse LEGO is sponsored by St. Joseph Today and the City of St. Joseph.
