Yacht Club Games has announced that Shovel Knight has been delayed until early 2014. This statement came from YCG via their Twitter account earlier this week. This title was originally set to launch in September, but was later pushed back until December before further setbacks finally caused it to be given a more tentative release date.
For those of you who may not be familiar with Shovel Knight, this platformer is currently set for release on the PC, Wii U and 3DS. The game has been confirmed to support Miiverse and StreetPass functionality. Players control the title character as he makes his way through multiple stages to do battle with the eight different 'boss knights'. This game was heavily inspired by Inafune's Mega Man franchise, with the various bosses taking influence from that series' Robot Masters.
According to earlier reports, YCG is currently working on the final levels of the game, as well as its overall polish and feel. Hopefully it won't be too much longer before this title sees the light of day.
