Shout Factory’s horror brand Scream Factory has become the go to place for classic cult horror favorites and they show no sign of letting up. Their latest releases kicking off the summer of scares include Joe Dante’s classic werewolf film The Howling and the much loved, but almost lost Ninja III: The Domination.
If you’ve never seen this classic werewolf film, The Howling follows a TV newscaster who decides to head out to a secluded retreat after a near-fatal encounter with a serial killer. What was meant to be a nice relaxing time to reboot, turns into a fight for her life and soul as she soon discovers the link between her attacker and this safe haven is more than she could have ever imagined. The Holwing has never been released on Blu-ray, so this much loved classic is sure to be a hit sporting not only the high def version of the film, but also numerous special features including featurettes, deleted scenes, outtakes, trailers and more. The Howling makes its debut on Blu-ray on June 18, 2013.
Ninja III: The Domination follows an aerobic instructor who becomes possessed by the spirit of an evil ninja after she comes to his aid after being gunned down. Now dominated by his rage, she sets out to destroy all of his enemies, but she must also face off against another ninja determined to stop her and exorcise the demon from her body. This film stars the legendary Sho Kosugi as the good ninja and Lucinda Dickey the star of Breakin’ and Breakin’ 2: Electric Boogaloo. Before you go running out to see about finding parts 1 and 2, this is a stand-alone film and only a part 3 in name alone. When this film was produced Cannon set out to deliver a series of Ninja films featuring Kosugi that included Enter The Ninja, Revenge of the Ninja, and Ninja III being the cap to their trilogy. Beyond the Ninja theme and Kosugi himself, this film is a standalone film. In addition this is the most sought after of the genre as it has never been released on Blu-ray or DVD until now when it hits Blu-ray and DVD on June 11, 2013.
Both of these classic films are sure to must have’s so make sure to head over to www.shoutfactory.com to pre-order your copies now.
