Should you get a Vitamix?

You've probably either thought about getting one or you already have one. I know I thought about buying one many times over probably 30 years before I finally got one. The two top questions in my mind were: Will I really use it? and Will it be worth the money? It turns out, I do use it and it's really been worth the money to me.

Everyone is different, and we all have our own kitchen appliance needs, but you can read my two-part assessment of the Vitamix here.

The video refers to the Vitamix as a blender, and the company itself calls the machine a blender, but actually its capabilities go far beyond those of an ordinary blender. It can make instant ice cream, turn nuts into nut butter, heat soup, and much more.

In the meantime, if you'd like to see a presentation on the Vitamix to help you decide, QVC is airing a full hour on the Vitamix at 5:00 p.m. EST today and again at 1:00 a.m. I bought mine from QVC, because their return policy is terrific and I wanted to be sure I could return it easily if I didn't like it. Needless to say, I kept it and loved it. QVC also has their Vitamix stock on easy payments at the moment if you're on the fence.

If I were still debating about whether to buy one or not, I would watch the presentations, read all Vitamix-related reviews on QVC and on, and ask myself the hard question: if you had a Vitamix sitting on your counter right now, what would you make with it? If you can't think of anything, it might not be for you just yet. Check it out and see.

If you miss both presentations, no problem. Just head over to, where you'll find several presentations of the Vitamix.
