The decision to nationalize American healthcare was overwhelming premised on one allegedly enormous number. This number was the number of persons who allegedly wanted, but could not afford healthcare. WE THE PEOPLE were told that this number was so large that nothing short of nationalizing American healthcare could handle the deluge of new persons to be insured.
Originally we were told this number was 16% of the American Population. When pressed, proponents of Obamacare were forced to admit that half of that 16% were folks who were simply exercising their then free market choice not to carry health insurance. This left 8% of the US population who allegedly wanted, but could not afford healthcare coverage. 8% of the US Population is approximately 24 Million. And the requirement of nationalizing American healthcare was premised on that large number. With that premise, Obamacare aka ACA was born. A number similar to this writer's recollection of this premise for Obamacare aka ACA can be found here:
Now, one would hope that in a sophisticated and talented country like America, our government would use the same common business practices that American businesses use to assess the roll out of their own new products and services. And as this one number was the greatest premise for nationalizing American healthcare, an American voter might reasonably expect that the number of persons who previously allegedly wanted but could not afford healthcare, but who were now covered, would be the measure of the validity of the premises and also, the success of Obamacare aka ACA? To be sure, lots of numbers about Obamacare are available, but that number upon which Obamcare was so greatly premised, has been illusive. This despite this writer various research:

And finally, this writer was reduced to calling government agencies. The closest this writer got was from a government agency staffer who spoke on the condition of anonymity. This writer was told the number he was looking for was 1.3 Million. 1.3 Million persons who allegedly wanted but could not afford healthcare were now covered under Obamacare. After much searching for a corroborating source in writing, this was the best this writer could come up with:
Now, it appears that this number is not even the "clean" number for which this writer was searching. (by not clean, this writer means that this number is all previously uninsured, including those who simply had exercised their then free market right to not carry healthcare coverage.) But even this number is so low, that any additional parsing is really unnecessary. 1.4 Million is no where close to the 24 Million (or 32 Million or 49 Million) persons who were the greatest single premise for the requirement to nationalize American Healthcare.
Even with this duplicitous aggregated number, the same common sense thought process prevails. A mere 1.4 Million additional persons could easily be cared for with a safety net. How about just rolling them into the already existing Medicare/Medicaid program? With these results, wouldn't any private business consider dismantling Obamacare the common sense course of action? (And then lets fix the problems with our original traditional healthcare that were only not fixed by Congress to creat an additional pretext for nationalizing our healthcare. But lets save that discussion for a future article.)
On the other hand, perhaps Rand's number is wrong. In that scenario, what does common sense dictate we do? Perhaps we should apply common sense again.
If the number of persons now insured under Obamacare, who formerly wanted but could not afford healthcare, was something to brag about the Obama Administration and its Main Stream Media Minions would be trumpeting the news. Rather than being hidden, the Obama Administration and its Main Stream Media Propaganda machine would be spamming the airwaves and the Internet with the results for this one greatest proof of success. But they are not.
And, using common sense, we can deduce that the actual result is so disappointing it must be hidden.
This writer calls on Congress to use common sense and dismantle Obamacare.
WE THE PEOPLE deserve to preserve our liberties while at the same time having the most cost effective solution to provide for those who want, but cannot afford healthcare coverage.
This writer calls about President Obama and Congress to present these numbers and make the simple business decision to dismantle Obamacare. Again, this presumes the now hidden number is wildly out of line with the original premise for nationalizing American healthcare.
Its nothing personal, its just common sense.
Those were my thoughts.
Thank you, my fellow citizens, for taking your valuable time to read and reflect upon what is written here.
If what is written here rings true to you, perhaps you should contact your local elected officials and let them know. If you are afraid of repercussions, snail mail it anonymously and ask them to respond in the local paper or their own monthly/quarterly internet newsletter. Even if this article refers to something outside you geographic area, it still likely applies to your location. Remember all those taxpayer training junkets we taxpayers send the bureaucrats on? They all learn the same “livestock management” techniques to use on WE THE PEOPLE.
And that leaves WE THE PEOPLE with this conundrum: While our #Government works full time with compensation and funded with our money for the cause of #Tyranny; WE THE PEOPLE are forced to work part time without compensation for the cause of #liberty with what is left over of our time, money and energy.
Finally, this article is written with the same intentions as Thomas Paine http://ushistory.org/paine. I, Don Mashak, seek no leadership role. I, Don Mashak, seek only to help the American People find their own way using their own “Common Sense” http://amzn.to/kbRuar
