In Genesis 12:1-3, the following promise is made:" The Lord said to Abram, 'Leave your country, your people and your father's household and go to the land I will show you. I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you: I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse" and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.'"
Known as the Abrahamic Covenant, this passage has been interpreted by many Biblical scholars to mean God will bless countries who bless Israel but curse those nations who curse Israel. History seems to support this interpretation.
Once powerful nations including the Persian Empire, the Philistines, the Egyptian Empire, the Babylonian Empire, the Syrians, the Roman Empire, the Byzantine Empire, Nazi Germany and Stalinist Russia have all opposed Israel and suffered the consequences. The Persian Empire was conquered by Alexander the Great on his way to ruling the known world in ancient days.
The Babylonian Empire was defeated by the Medes and the Persians.
Many experts say the Philistines don't even exist anymore while the Egyptians were drowned in the Red Sea as they pursued Moses and the Israelites. Even the mighty Roman Empire collapsed as barbarians from the north invaded the once invincible power. Hitler committed suicide as Nazi Germany collapsed after murdering millions of Jews in concentration camps.
Joseph Stalin also exterminated millions of Jews before he died and the Iron Curtain the Russians erected across Europe collapsed. The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics no longer exists.
The conclusion seems inescapable based on Scriptures. If the United States wants to continue being blessed by God, it needs to support Israel.
