Should the Clipper get involved in the Dwight Howard Sweepstakes?

That would be is a definitive yes.  They should call Orlando right now and begin the negations.  Give the Magic cart blanche’ on their roster.  You can have anybody and everybody but Blake Griffin.  The Clippers should start with Minnesota’s first round unprotected lottery pick next year that the Clippers own, that will probably mean a lottery pick given the Minnesota’s recent history and next year’s draft class is considered talented and deep.  Let’s start off with the Minnesota’s pick and throw in the Clippers own first round pick.  Then allow the Magic to pick either Chris Kaman, who is in the last year of his contract and is playing for another. Or DeAndre Jordon who while not as polished offensively but is a solid defender and a good rebounder. They can even let the Magic have them both, since Howard is Superman and would play the entire game anyway.   One player they would like to keep is sharp shooting guard Eric Gordon who has the potential to an all star but let’s be real the Magic would insist he be part of the deal.  That is a nice package for the Magic who in reality probably can’t get a better deal.  The Clippers could even sweeten the pot by giving the Magic their 2013 first round pick and even taking on Hedu Turkoglu and his ridiculous contract.  He’s scheduled to make over 30 million in the next three years and the Magic are dying to get rid of him. Can you say amnesty Turkoglu?

By getting Howard and pairing him with Griffin, would give the Clipper instant credibility, not just in Los Angeles, but though out the entire league.  Howard and Griffin would be best dynamic duo ever.  They would be Shaq and Kobe without the drama. They would bigger than the Miami Heat trio. Free agents would be lining up to play with both and would more than likely take less than market value to play with them, that and playing in sunny Los Angeles.  The Clippers would sell out just about every home game and they would even have a home court advantage when they play against the Lakers.  Television rating would go through the roof.

The Clipper have the salary cap room, they have the young talented players to give, but the key is owner Donald Sterling who is most known for owning a habitual losing franchise, but making a profit at the same time.  Will Sterling allow this trade to happen? This could be a way for Donald Sterling to thank all his loyal Clipper fans who supported his team all these years and change his legacy.   By getting the best center in the NBA and making the Clippers instant championship contenders, which is a phrase that has never been associated with the Clippers.   Sterling needs to get this done.
