When it comes to drama, no network knows it better than MTV. So, should it come as any surprise that Jenelle Evans and Courtland Rogers say they have been offered a “Teen Mom 2” spin-off? Courtland told Star magazine that a show was in the works, but new tweets posted by Jenelle Evans on January 19 tell a different story.
The reality show star said:
nobody has said anything about a spin off show. Courtland doesn't even want to be on camera.
Interestingly in the past, Courtland has said that he and Jenelle should have their own spin-off show. Not only that, but he did indeed tell Star magazine that a spin-off has been talked about, but now Jenelle is saying that is hasn’t been. And, in case anyone is wondering, MTV has made it very clear that they are not interested in showing a spin-off about Jenelle and Courtland.
For a minute though, let’s entertain the idea that the network did offer the couple a spin-off. Would anyone really watch it? Unfortunately, the “Teen Mom” franchise no longer sends the message that initially intended to. There are still girls on the show who show what it is like to be a single mom (Kailyn Lowry) and what it is like to struggle through emotional ups and downs (Leah Messer-Calvert), but unfortunately, the struggling aspect is gone. If anyone should get a spin-off, it should be one of those two girls who continue to set a good example for young girls.
Jenelle recently said that she has more than enough money, so her hypothetical spin-off wouldn’t really show teens what it is like to struggle being a mom with another baby on the way. After “Teen Mom 2” comes to a close, fans will still be able to keep up with her and Courtland, but will have to do so via Twitter and the tabloids.
