We already know that author John Green has given his two very enthusiastic thumbs up to Josh Boone, the director chosen to adapt his book The Fault In Our Stars.
So, today a new question arose regarding their friendly working relationship: Should Josh Boone order up a John Green cameo in the movie?
As detailed by Hypable, a Twitterer had the good sense to approach Green with the idea of him portraying Hazel's father in the movie, and Green wasn't exactly opposed to it.
"I am available to @joshboonemovies in any way that I am useful, but I have no such expectations," he tweeted.
Those familiar with Green's web show VlogBrothers will know he's got some considerable experience being in front of the camera, so that certainly wouldn't be an issue for him. Also, he did say during a Twitter chat yesterday that the character he most relates to in the story is Hazel's father.
At the end of the day, though, Mr. Green isn't pushing the matter ... or any casting decision for that matter. "I am not casting the TFiOS movie. I want very little say in such things; I'll leave it to the pros," he wrote.
Per the grape vine, both Shailene Woodley and Hailee Steinfeld are currently in contention for the lead role of Hazel in the movie, but no official casting decision has yet been announced.
Do you hope to see a John Green cameo in TFIOS? Why or why not?
