According to an Oct. 19 post from Bloody Elbow, UFC President Dana White thinks the winner of the UFC 166 fight between Junior dos Santos and Cain Velasquez should be considered the greatest UFC heavyweight of all-time.
"I think these two are the two best heavyweights in the world, they're in their prime and yeah (I think the winner is the best heavyweight in UFC history)," White said of Velasquez vs Dos Santos. "This is a great fight. I've been really excited about this fight."
UFC 166 is set for Houston, Texas, on Oct. 19. Dos Santos and Velasquez will square off in the UFC 166 main event.
"I honestly have no idea what can happen in this fight," White said. "In the second fight, I didn't think Cain Velasquez could hurt him on his feet, and he did.
"You have the argument that Junior was going through a lot of personal problems in the last fight and that absolutely makes a difference. To say that doesn't make a difference is crazy."
White says there is absolutely no way to break down the fight between Velasquez and Dos Santos, as it could literally go either way.
Dos Santos needed just 64 seconds to dispose of Velasquez the first time around, but the latter handed out a vicious five-round beating when the men met the second time.
"The reason is (it's) two heavyweights in their prime and the way that the first two fights went," White said prior to UFC 166. "(Dos Santos) knocks him (Velasquez) out in the first fight in the first round, and then he (Velasquez) destroys him (Dos Santos) in the second fight. There's no way to break this fight down."
