Shots fired at local rapper's funeral: East Cleveland school on lockdown

Police officials are investigating a shooting that occurred at Cedric Morgan's funeral held at the Omega Baptist Church. On Friday, March 1 NBC News reported that a gunman fired shots inside the church service.

There have been no injuries reported; however, a local elementary school was placed on lockdown after information reported that someone was seen running behind the building after the shooting. After a search of the area the school was given the all-clear signal and the lock down was canceled.

East Cleveland Mayor Gary Norton who was attending the funeral service stated that the gunshot hit a church wall. According to the Mayor the murder of Cedric Morgan is still unsolved.

Cedric 'Lil Ced' Morgan was a rapper who was fatally shot in front of his home on Wednesday, Feb. 20 in East Cleveland. The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office reports stated that Cedric was shot in his head, pelvis and arm.
