PITTSBURGH, PA – Shorty Rossi, the star of Animal Planets famous show, Pit Boss was denied access to a children’s hospital last month when the hospital found out Rossi’s service dog Hercules, was a pit bull.

Rossi who travels America with Hercules to raise money for charity, also visits hospitals, schools, retirement homes, and rescue shelters, to spread good cheer.

Rossi had been in Pittsburgh to raise money for the Western Pennsylvania Police Benevolent Foundation, and Shorty's Charities. They wanted to visit the children at the local hospital, but that all changed when the duo was denied access to the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC by the hospital’s special events coordinator, Ashley van Alen.

“We are already in the process of alerting the right authorities of the hospital’s violations and have informed them of our actions including alerting the media.” Rossi’s team stated. “What they are doing is wrong and illegal.”

Rossi’s team has posted a plea on their charities Facebook page asking for the public’s help in politely contacting the hospital so this will not become an issue in the future. Click here.
