Shorty Rossi coming to Charlotte for Summer Concert Benefit

On Saturday, July 16th, Animal Planet’s Pit Boss will be the official MC for the American Pit Bull Foundation’s first annual Summer Concert Benefit.

The owner and operator of Shortywood productions is a long time Pit Bull enthusiast and has utilized his growing success to help unfortunate dogs find happy endings. Since the start of the show Pit Boss, Shorty has made an effort to travel nationally for movements in support of public education and breed awareness.

The Queen City will be welcoming Shorty to Amos’ Southend on the 16thto help raise needed funds to continue the educational, programming and assistance efforts offered by the American Pit Bull Foundation.

Joining Shorty as special guests are author Ken Foster who will be offering a book signing, and the Pin Ups for Pit Bulls who will be on-site for photos and assistance with the event.

Six bands are playing the event including John Shipe who sings Pit Bull Blues, Lucky Five Band, The Situationals, Porcelain Mary, Jared Allan & Company, and Jah Fishermen.

Several local rescue groups are also participating such as the Humane Society of Charlotte, Carolina Care Bullies, Crossroads Animal Rescue, Great Dane Rescue Friends of Ruff Love, Coalition to Unchain Dogs, Char-Meck Animal Care and Control, and several more.

A silent auction is being held featuring two framed prints from the artist who portrayed the Michael Vick Dogs, a Bissell Pet Vacuum, restaurant gift certificates and more.

Outdoor activities begin at 2pm and Shorty will kick off the indoor concert just before pm.

General admission tickets are $25; VIP tickets are being offered at $75 with special privledges.
