Short film examines life and times of pioneering Asian actor Keye Luke

Director Timothy Tau's story about pioneering Asian American actor and artist Keye Luke will screen at this year's Hollyshorts Film Festival.

The short film stars actor Feodor Chin as Keye Luke alongside a strong ensemble cast that includes Archie Kao ("CSI") as Keye's brother Edwin Luke and veteran actor Kelvin Han Yee ("Hawaii Five-0") as Lee Luke, Keye Luke's father with Louie Yee making his screen debut as Louie "Gwei Lo" Luke, the Luke family dog!

"Keye Luke" captures snippets from Luke's career which included the role of Number One Son in the Charlie Chan movies of the 1930-40s and Kato in the "Green Hornet" serials of the 1940s.

Television audiences will also recall Luke played Master Po on the 1970s TV series "Kung Fu" starring David Carradine.

Fans can catch the "Keye Luke" screening as part of a shorts program at the historic TCL Chinese Theater in Hollywood during the closing weekend of the 2014 HollyShorts Film Festival, which runs August 14-23.
