Shoreline wine festival 2013

Connecticut is known for its wine trail, yet the vineyards are located across the state. Save gas by stopping by the 7th annual Shoreline Wine Festival. Seven of Connecticut's best vineyards and wineries will all be in one location to offer samples. The event kicks off Saturday and Sunday, August 10 & 11, 2013 at Bishop's Orchard Winery.

The seven participating vineyards and wineries from across the state are Bishop's Orchard Winery, Chamard, Hopkins Vineyard, Jonathan Edwards WInery, Jones Winery, Sunset Meadow Vineyards, and DiGrazia Vineyards. Ticket price per person is $25 plus a $1.62 fee. This price will increase as the date of the event nears. Designated driver ticket price is $10 per person plus a $1.24 fee. Tickets are available online or at Bishop's Orchard. The fun starts at noon until 7pm on Saturday, and until 6pm on Sunday.

Grape and fruit wines will be included. Visitors will be able to tour the Bishop's Orchard Winery and view seminars from wine experts. Entertainment will be provided in the form of live music: Moody Bloosom, Shiny Lapel Trio, Dizzy River Band, and Rizzo's Dilemma. Food vendors will keep you steady on your feet as you balance wine and an empty stomach, however, food is not included in the ticket price.

Bishop's Orchard Winery is located at 1355 Boston Post Road in Guildford, CT. If you can't attend the wine festival enjoy a glass of vino along the wine trail on an alternative date.
