Did you know Shoreline Park is now offering organized docent-led walks each month? Join your neighbors on one of the park’s special guided walks to get some fresh air and learn about the park’s abundant wildlife, history, and recreational opportunities. An environmental docent will be leading a walk this Sun., Feb. 24th. The walk will start at 9:00 am and begin at the Rengstorff House.
Shoreline Park is located at 3070 N. Shoreline Boulevard in Mountain View. Park entrance is free, and the Rengstorff House is located a short drive from the park’s main gate. Advance registration is required. If you would like to join the walk, call (650) 903-6392, or email the park at shoreline.docent.walks@mountainview.gov.
The next Shoreline Park walk is scheduled for Sun., Mar. 24th, and will focus on the migratory tropical bird wildlife. A representative from the Santa Clara Audubon Society will be joining the walk. The March walk will depart from the San Antonio Road gate.
Scheduled walks are cancelled only in the event of heavy rain. Due to the park’s close proximity to the water, dressing in layers is recommended. Don’t forget the camera and binoculars. After February’s walk, stop inside the Rengstorff House to view a special photography exhibit: From Wetlands to Wonder! This exhibit showcases views of the park that range from historical photos, to land and waterscapes, to wildlife and recreation. The exhibit is open through Mar 6th, Tues., Wed., and Sun. from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Both the walks and the photography exhibit are free and open to the public.
