Shopping with a purpose: "Passport for Purpose Marketplace" comes to Charlotte (Photos)

We can all agree that shopping can be great for personal contentment, but wouldn’t your retail experience be even better, if you knew your purchases benefited a worthy cause?

On April 21, 2012, three Carolina-based non-profit organizations, Mothering Across Continents, Seeds of Hope and Dining for Women will debut Passport for Purpose Marketplace (PfP Marketplace) at the Reelworks Studios in the NC Music Factory, 817 Hamilton St, Charlotte NC 28206. This event will showcase unique, hand-made collections of jewelry and accessories from necklaces, bracelets, earrings to silk scarves and handbags, from 10 global, fair-trade organizations.

PfP Marketplace will be held twice on the 21st and will be open to the public. Early entry shopping will begin at 11am and end at 2pm. Tickets are available online via www.PassportforPurpose.org. Proceeds from the ticket sales will go towards all three non-profits and are tax-deductible.

In the evening, part two of the PfP shopping event will be featured in conjunction with Charlotte Seen's, Charlotte Passport for Fashion, which is also open to the public, from 7pm to 1am. Separate tickets for Charlotte Passport for Fashion can be purchased through www.passportforfashion.com.
