When we go to the mall looking for a suit to look chic and confident while presenting at our next business meeting, we know exactly what we want and we are willing to pay the price. However, there are women out there with a heart full of ambition and drive but can't afford to complete their career wardrobe.

That is when Dress For Success comes into the picture. This international non-for-profit organization, founded in New York City in 1997, promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a support network and career development tools to assist women not only in their professional life but in their personal life as well.

Fashion events to raise much needed funds take place all across our nation on a weekly basis. Just recently, on January 13, 2014, a top model and a filmmaker and fashion editor, came together to host their own stylish soiree at the Jane Hotel in New York City. Karen Elson, Liz Goldwyn and Tonne Goodman brought their very best vintage pieces to the spotlight as they threw a party of 'Vintage Vanguard'. All three women opened the doors of their private closets to give attendees a look at their favorite 20 vintage dresses reworked by such talented designers as Zac Posen, Marc Jacobs and Francisco Costa. The choices were stunning and brought out the best of the fashion industry to take a look and celebrate such a wonderful organization, Dress For Success. The Dress for Success Vintage Vanguard project was made possible through a partnership with Atelier Swarovski, a constant champion of supporting creativity within the industry.

Now, Palm Beach County can look forward to an exciting fashion event that is just as enticing. On February 5th and 6th, 2014, between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., a designer label tag sale will take place in the Perper Plaza right outside of the cafeteria at Lynn University located at 3601 North Military Trail, Boca Raton, Florida. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity to buy clothing from labels such as Gucci, Dior, Chanel and Dolce & Gabbana for 80% off of the original price. All funds go to support Dress For Success Palm Beaches. This shopping event is sponsored by The Fashion and Retail Association.

If you miss that event, you certainly won't want to miss "Open Hearts Open Doors", a benefit for 20 local charities including Dress For Success Palm Beaches. Even before the public heads down for opening day at Palm Beach Outlet Mall , you will be among the first to scour the best deals from Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5th, White House | Black Market, J. Crew Factory Store and more at the Preview Event, the night before these stores officially open to the public. It all takes place on Thursday, February 13, 2014, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the new Palm Beach Outlet Mall located at 1751 Palm Beach Lakes Blvd., West Palm Beach, FL 33401. Tickets are $20 and must be purchased in advance at: https://www.blacktie-southflorida.com/online_sales/rsvp_ticket_purchasebt.cfm?rsvpid=2535.
