When is the last time you did some price comparisons on various services used in your household? I know most of the time it is just easier to stick with what you have rather than spend the time getting quotes from new companies.
It seems kind of sad – you’d think that being a long-term, loyal customer would give you some benefits. But the truth is that many companies really don’t care. You get the standard price increase every year regardless of your track record with them. So, sometimes in order to get competitive pricing, you have to change the company with which you do business.
We have recently made some changes to our home telephone service. I know many people have just eliminated this altogether, with cell phones being so commonplace now. But, I wasn’t ready to do that! We sometimes have kids home alone, who don’t have cell phones, and our cell phones don’t work well inside the house. But, I found out that the bundling discount I thought I had on my phone/cell phone/internet was no longer being deducted. When I called to ask about it, I was told that they no longer offered that. Apparently notifying us that it had changed was not required. So, we decided to shop around and decided to go with Vonage, which has saved us approximately $40 per month! It’s been a couple of months so far and we’ve had absolutely no issues with the service. If it’s something you want to check into, you can get a free month’s worth of service by using this link.
Good luck on finding some ways to save!
Now for some other good stuff!
All You Magazine September 2012 Coupon List – TrueCouponing has been kind enough to provide a list of coupons that are in Walmart’s All You Magazine for September. You can check it out here to see if you want to stop by and pick up a copy. I believe it retails for $2.49 per issue if you buy it at Walmart, but you can get a subscription for $1.66 per issue here. However, I will tell you that sometimes the subscription version has fewer coupons than the newsstand version.
