As I write this, it's snowing and 23 degrees here in Northeast Ohio - but now is the time to start thinking about your spring and summer wardrobe. Fashion designers have already shown their Spring/Summer 2010 collections, so here are some tips on two big trends - what to look for and where to find it!
- 80's retro - One of the biggest trends on today's catwalks is a look many of you may remember fondly (or not so fondly) - the 80's are back! This look is perfect for those on a budget - while New York fashionistas are spending their inheritance on this look, those of us with more common sense that cash can re-create it at our local thrift shops. In the Canton/Akron area, I recommend Village Discount Outlet - great prices and selection! Look for structured jackets in bold colors, large bangle bracelets in mixed textures and colors, vests (the more embellished they are, the better) and dresses with wide belts.
- Biker chic accessories - If you're not under 20 years old, it's hard to get away with a lot of glitzy jewelry without looking like "mutton dressed as lamb", as the English say. But mix that sparkly look with a rough-n-tough style and you get a look most any age can wear. The best place locally for these items is Body Central - they have hundreds of different items with most price tags under $10.00! With at least 4 locations in Northeast Ohio (Akron, Fairlawn, Strongsville, and Youngstown), many more nationwide, and online shopping too, anyone can find a trendy necklace, scarf, bracelet, or earrings to perk up their wardrobe staples.
