Shop for Thanksgiving at the Dallas Farmers Market

The Dallas Farmers Market offers the perfect place to find good deals on Thanksgiving supplies for 2009.

Find produce for prices that supermarkets can't beat. Two vendors were selling pomegranates for $1 each on Nov. 14. Blackberries were still available - perfect for pies.

Saturday morning is a busy time at the market. To get the best deals, stop by later in the day on a weekday.

If Saturday or Sunday are the only options, be sure to stroll through the stalls, asking for price quotes. A recent trip to the market found tangelos from three separate vendors at three different prices: 8 for $3, 8 for $2 or 10 for $1. It definitely pays to check out the competition.

Remember there is more to the Dallas Farmers Market than produce. You can also find fresh flowers, herbs, breads, eggs and meat.

OMG! $1 for pomegranates - I'm going today. I don't care if it is raining.

That's great for pomegranates. They were $1.50 and $2 just a couple weeks ago. AND November is National Pomegranate Month!
