Shooting under investigation in Olathe

The Olathe Police Department is investigating a report of an aggravated battery that occurred on West 148th Terrace on the evening of March 5, 2013.

Shortly before 10:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to a residence in the 15800 block of West 148th Terrace. On arrival, they found a 51-year-old female that had suffered a single gunshot wound to the thigh. The victim was taken to an area hospital, where she remained in serious condition.

A second victim was also found at the scene. Police discovered a 52-year-old male deceased inside the residence from an apparent gunshot wound.

No names have been released yet.

The Olathe Police Department has released the names of the shooting victims.

The 52-year-old male who died following the shooting has been identified as Donald J. Johnston of Olathe.

The 51-year-old female has been identified as Tammy J. Johnston. She remains in serious condition at a local hospital.
