Shooting leaves 2 dead and 1 injured at a Kentucky college (Video)

A man welding a gun fired into a vehicle killing two people and injuring a teenager today Jan. 15. The group were sitting in the parking lot of a Kentucky community college.

Immediately the college campus was locked down for more than an hour. The police searched two buildings on campus of Hazard Community and Technical College in Hazard.

Stephen Greiner, the college’s president, said that at the time of the shooting, about 30 students were on campus, 90 miles southeast of Lexington, Ky.

A semiautomatic pistol was found by the police at the scene. It has been reported that a man walked into an office of the Kentucky State Police in Hazard and said he knew something about the shooting. He was being questioned as a suspect, according to Chief Minor Allen of the Hazard Police Department.

A man and a woman were reported to be dead when the police arrived about 6 p.m., Chief Allen said. A female teenager was taken to the University of Kentucky Hospital. Allen said a domestic dispute may have been what led to the shooting.

Wednesday’s classes have been cancelled.
