News is breaking about a shooting in Denver on Wednesday morning, Feb. 6, that has left three dead and at least one injured, according to early reports by DenverPost.com. Two of the fatalities were children, police say, with another child transported to the hospital. The call came in at 6:55 a.m. about the incident at 4920 N. Pearl St.
A neighbor told the Denver Post that her father-in-law, who did not speak English, heard a couple of gunshots around 5 a.m. She also said he then heard a truck speeding away with its tires squealing. Early reports on Twitter indicated that it was possibly a murder suicide, but the neighbor's remarks indicate otherwise.
The area around the incident is closed off for investigation: 49th Street from Washington to Pearl is closed. More details are expected later. The early reports have all left the door open to more victims being reported, it appeared, by the use of the wording “at least three dead.” The condition of the injured child is not known at this time.
