Shooting at Purdue University: Shooter apprehended?

On Jan. 21, a shooting at Purdue University was reported via the Twitter account for this esteemed Indiana institute of higher learning.

According to the post, the shooting on campus involved Electrical Engineering Building. Readers were told to "..avoid area" and that a "shelter was in place."

Purdue university's site went into some detail about what happened in West Lafayette. An urgent post said, "One person is in custody. Police have cleared the building and are continuing to search the area, and people should remain sheltered in place until further notice."

As of this writing, no injuries have been reported at this midwestern college where 29,440 students are said to be enrolled.

According to local newspaper, The Journal & Courier newspaper, a compound post run by law enforcement has been erected next to the engineering mall. The building where the shooting allegedly took place is said to be in the middle of the sprawling Purdue University campus.
