Shooting at Fort Hood, with multiple injuries

Authorities at the Fort Hood Military base has ordered everyone to, "shelter in place" due to an active shooter. The shooting is believed to have taken place at the Medical Brigade Building and the shooter is believed to be, still at large.

Just after 5 p.m., the base tweeted that all personnel are being asked to shelter in place, close doors and stay away from windows.

A U.S. Army official at Fort Hood confirms that a shooting has occurred at the base, though the number of people injured and the severity of their injuries has not been confirmed.A CBS-TV Affiliate KWTX, Waco is reporting one confirmed dead, and at least 8 taken to the hospital

In 2009, Maj.Nidal Malik Hasan a U.S. Army major and psychiatrist at Fort Hood, fatally shot 13 people and injured more than 30 others.In 2013 Hasan was found guilty and sentenced to death. He is awaiting execution.

Update 8:12 p.m. EDT

Fox News is reporting that four people have been killed including the shooter and 14 injured. A senior Department of Homeland Security source told Fox News; approximately 20 rounds were shot. The shooter was identified as 34-year-old Ivan Lopez an active duty soldier stationed at the base. Authorities have ruled out terrorism and called it a "soldier on soldier" incident without any preliminary terrorism link

President Obama gave a brief statement at the White House and said;"We're heartbroken something like this might have happened again."
