Demiurge Studios has revealed the first trailer for the upcoming Shoot Many Robots, scheduled to be released sometime in 2011. Shoot Many Robots will be released as a download title.
The trailer gives us a sense of what's happening in Shoot Many Robots, a Metal Slug style side-scroller with plenty of action, featuring some sort of level up system and gear boosts. Not surprisingly, the premise of the title appears to be firing off various weapons at a considerable amount of automated metal constructs.
“Shoot Many Robots is the dream game we’ve always wanted to make: a 4-player co-op action-RPG with tons of loot and great innovation on beloved run-and-gun game play. Our team created a vibrant, unique style for the game that’s beautifully rendered by Demiurge’s new game engine. Building a 'Robot Murder Simulator' has been a blast for us, and we can't wait to get it into gamers' hands,” says Albert Reed, co-founder and studio director at Demiurge Studios.
Bringing a level up system into the tried, true, and fun-filled world of the co-op shooter seems like a salty endeavor that could make Shoot Many Robots an interesting foray into the multiplayer online gaming world.
