There’ll be plenty of buzz happening on No. 14 at Mountain Creek Golf Course during two days in May as players take a crack at scoring free 2014 memberships for the Arnprior-area track.

“The Shoot For Free Memberships promotion is scheduled for May 19 and May 25 from 7 a.m. until noon on both days,” said Mountain Creek’s owner Jonathan Schaepper, a PGA of Canada member. “During their 18-hole rounds, men and women players will look to jar tee-shots on the par 3, 14th.

“Anyone who makes an ace wins a free membership for this year, shots within a three-foot radius scratch 25% off any of our memberships, balls resting inside six-feet slice 10% of any membership and players sticking shots anywhere on the green receive a free jumbo hotdog.”

Golfers who are already members will win 2015 memberships and discounts.

No. 14 at Mountain Creek plays 135 yards from the blue tees, 131 yards from the white tees and 125 yards from the green tees.

Mountain Creek Golf Course is an 18-hole championship layout playing to par 70. It’s 6,217 yards from the blues, 6,021 yards from the whites and 5,405 yards from the greens.

The layout winds its way around two lakes and a meandering creek, which influences shot selections on five of the holes.

Mountain Creek is situated six kilometres south of Arnprior — only 30 minutes past the Canadian Tire Centre.
