Shoe World, step into the glamorous

(VIDEO) We are talking directly to shoe “lovers.” How would you like to visit a world of shoes?

All you need is Prince Charming

Every year in November and April, two retired Pilots and three Flight Attendants, meet at Philadelphia International Airport for their annual shoe-shopping trip. Anxiously, they wait to board the USAir flight en route to the shoe capital of the world, Rome, Italy. Their five-day mission is to buy some of the most fashionable shoes in the world, Italian SHOES.

Marilyn Monroe remarks about her love affair with shoes, “Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world." Carrie Bradshaw’s take on shoes, “Men I may not know, but shoes, shoes I know.”

“It is the first thing I look at on an applicant,” says this Human Resources Recruiter. “I interview applicants five days a week; sometimes I have twenty interviews in one day! Once I see the shoes on an applicant, forty-five percent of my job is done.”

At Princess Dominique you can enter to win a pair of shoes every week. The company founded in 2004, covers fashion events, interviews feature designers, and is a sanctuary for those who are literally obsessed with high heels. Shoe Surveys & Polls ask women questions like, how obsessed are you with shoes, and how much you spent for these (out-of-your-budget) shoes? Just look in your closet. That is an easy answer to the questions.

The Pilots and Flight Attendants have seen top fashion, and prices on the most famous and expensive street in Rome, Italy, Via Veneto. The last shoe store on their list is Scarpa Mondo (Shoe World) at the Parco Da Vinci Shopping Center. Flight crews know where to find reasonable prices, the Italian shoe line Sheen, Nero Giardini, and Geox in the latest fashionable styles.

Fifty years ago, Gruppo Pietrini launched Scarpa Mondo, one of the most important shoe stores in Italy. You may purchase some of their brands at Macy’s, Nordstrom’s and Nordstrom’s Rack, and DSW. Today, there are twenty-nine Scarpa Mondo megastores in Toscana, Lazio, Umbria, Marche, Emilia Romagna, Liguria and Campania Italy. And we hope, soon in the United States.

Now follow the Pilots and Flight Attendants. Imagine trying on a pair of the glamorous shoes in their shopping video. Ready to buy? For purchase information, visit or contact Stefania, Buyer,

Truly, people will ask, where did you get those shoes?
