Every year in November and April, two retired Pilots and three Flight Attendants, meet at Philadelphia International Airport for their annual shoe-shopping trip. Anxiously, they wait to board the USAir flight en route to the shoe capital of the world, Rome, Italy. Their five-day mission is to buy some of the most fashionable shoes in the world, Italian SHOES.

“It is the first thing I look at on an applicant,” says this Human Resources Recruiter. “I interview applicants five days a week; sometimes I have twenty interviews in one day! Once I see the shoes on an applicant, forty-five percent of my job is done.”
