When: January 22 - February 2

Where: Green Acres School

North Bethesda, MD

301.881.4100

After reading the novel Maniac Magee by Jerry Spinelli, a story of a homeless boy, sixth grade students at Green Acres School in North Bethesda were moved to plan a service project to help homeless people in the DC metro area. The students are hosting a community-wide shoe drive and donating all collected items to Cherished Feet – a New York based nonprofit with an office in Washington, DC. Cherished Feet works to provide footwear to underprivileged families in the US and developing nations. If you live in the Bethesda area and have gently worn shoes you would like to donate, please drop them off at the school.
