Rolling Stone announced recently Shock Rocker Marilyn Manson has been cast as the voice of the Shadow, the menacing entity who kidnaps boys from the real world to take to Neverland upon Peter Pan's command.
Creators Adam Horowitz and Eddie Kitsis excitedly revealed to Rolling Stone's Scott Neumyer the reason behind the casting, stating they had been fans of the musician.
"We wanted to cast someone with the vocal ability to make our skin crawl." It has not been announced which episode he will be appearing in, but viewers have faith Manson will be true to the role and the feel of the plot. Manson has not been a stranger to acting, as he has appeared previously in "Party Monster" and guest starred in "The Soup".
Viewers were first introduced to the Shadow in 2.21, "Second Star to the Right", when an abandonded Baelfire saves the Darling children, the family who took him in in Victorian England.
The Shadow abducted Baelfire, taking him to Neverland, introduced him to Killian JOnes and met up with the Lost Boys where viewers found out Pan was searching out Henry.
In the most recent episode, the Shadow, called on by Robin Hood's son, unwillingly brought Neal/Baelfire to Neverland in order to rescue his son and Emma. This week's episode will bring about a father/son reunion between Baelfire and Rumplestiltskin, as he finds out his son survived the gunshot and portal jump after all.
