Shirley Jones, famed star of stage and screen, is celebrating her 80th birthday on Monday by skydiving. She says that if former U.S. President George H.W. Bush can do it on his 85th birthday, she can do the same on her 80th, according to a UPI report on Sunday.

Shirley Jones who starred as the mother in the popular television program “The Partridge Family” as well as in the forever-popular classic film “Oklahoma,” is taking her first skydive adventure on Monday. She has said that she has always wanted to skydive.

She admits that her sons are not big fans of her celebratory plans. Her three sons from her first marriage to Jack Cassidy are Shaun, Patrick, and Ryan Cassidy. Famed singer and Jones’ co-star in “The Partridge Family” David Cassidy is her step-son - as he is Jones’ first husband’s only child from his first marriage.

Shirley Jones divorced Jack Cassidy in 1974 and married comedian Marty Ingels - who is 78 years - old in 1977.
