If you're looking for something different to do this coming Sunday, September 22, 2013, head over to Wollman Rink in Central Park, and, participate in the Shinnyo Lantern Floating for Peace. It's free and it is open to the general public. The event begins at 1 PM and ends at 5 PM with the closing ceremony from 7PM to 8PM.
In addition to having the opportunity to write a message of peace on a lantern, the event will be featuring "live musical performances by Shinnyo Taiko drummers, Spanish Flamenco singer/dancer Barbara Martinez, Jewish folk ensemble Pharaoh's Daughter Unpugged, Ramzi Edlibi and Debkeh Arab dancers and other NYC artists."
