Shinedown to perform at Stabler Arena

Sound of Madness album cover.

Stabler Arena is not new to hosting some talented musicians and bands since its 1979 opening. Notable acts including Breaking Benjamin, Billy Joel, Fleetwood Mac, and Aerosmith have performed at the South Mountain arena.

On January 28, 2010 Shinedown will be included on that list when they perform with Skillet, Puddle of Mudd, and up-and-comers Like a Storm.

Shinedown’s hard rock edge hails from Jacksonville, Florida and was formed in 2001. The band was signed to Atlantic Records and has released three albums. Reaching over six million albums sold worldwide.

Shinedown is also the first rock band to have all eleven of their singles reach the Top 5 of Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart.

Yet, while no other band has accomplished Shinedown's feat, the band would face lineup changes that has left only two of the founding members remaining, Brent Smith (vocals) and Barry Kerch (drums). The other current members include Zach Myers (guitar/vocals) and Eric Bass (bass/keys/vocals).

However, this did not lead to a break-up of the band. Instead, Shinedown has continued to grow since their debut, Leave a Whisper, in 2003 to become one of the most recognized mainstream rock acts.

Shinedown alone is worth seeing, but the other rock groups only solidify the concert as a not-miss. This is one show that will leave you salivating for more.

Albums: Leave a Whisper, Us and Them, The Sound of Madness.

Standout Tracks: 45, Heroes, Save Me, Devour, Second Chance, Sound of Madness, If You Only  Knew, Fly from the Inside, and an excellent cover of Simple Man by Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Tickets for the January 28th show are on sale now. For more info on Shinedown check out their MySpace and Website.
