Shine a ray of light on infertility, launches first Chicago support group

Shine is the first ever infertility support group in Chicago to help educate, empower women who are struggling to conceive. After founder, Katie O'Conner struggled with infertility for two years from a diagnosis of Poly cystic Ovarian Syndrome. It was through this experience of multiple types of hormonal, Intrauterine, and In-Vitro treatments, she realized there was not a support system in place for women to gather, learn and share their experiences. Katie has happily given birth to her own daughter and plans to inspire others to be empowered and informed.

Shine is both an in-person and online membership community where women come together and support each other through their infertility journeys. It is a place to feel empowered and gather knowledge from guest speakers in the infertility community including reproductive endocrinologists, obstetricians, alternative and holistic medicine specialists, and clinical nutritionists. Peer support, open dialogue, and e-groups allow members to discuss a wide range of topics from infertility 101 to relaxation techniques and women’s “whole” health. There are many benefits to being a member including several discounts on health and wellness businesses to help your whole body.
