Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem announced

Nintendo Direct has announced a whole list of games that will be arriving for the Wii U. Yet, one game stood out as a very random, unexpected, and pleasant surprise based on the reaction of gamers. Nintendo will be working with Atlus to bring Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem.

Shin Megami Tensei, is a series that includes games such as Persona, Nocturne, and Devil Survivor. The Shin Megami Tensei games are generally dark, but have a very good following. They have been available for PlayStation consoles, and the DS and 3DS.

Fire Emblem is a longstanding, turn based strategy series that has been playable exclusively by Nintendo systems such as their handhelds, Gamecube, and Wii.

So how will these two games series merge, pleasing fans of both? It's hard to say how they will pull it off. Nintendo teases us with a very short 40 second trailer that shows us nothing of gameplay.

It seems the reception of this announcement has been generally favorable, despite gamers questioning what kind of a game we can expect from this mash up.

Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem will be available for the Nintendo Wii U.

Are you excited about this announcement, or do you find the mix of these two games way too different?
