'Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers' arriving soon for the 3DS

Atlus published a trailer of their upcoming Nintendo 3DS exclusive, "Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers" scheduled for release in the states on April, 16, 2013. The trailer gives us a nice futuristic feel with its English voice actors narrating the crux of the storyline involving a group of amateur hackers and a "fully networked integrated city." Those that have followed the "Devil Summoner" series will fall right into its familiar gameplay and mature horror themes.

The plot of 'Soul Hackers' revolves around a sinister organization calling themselves the Phantom Society and their intent to rob the souls from citizens in Amami City. Amami City is a surreal setting, fully integrated into an online network that allows its citizens to live a life of serenity and freedom. This doesn't bode well for long as souls are beginning to be stolen by the Phantom Society. It all falls in the hands of a group of hackers calling themselves "The Spookies" and their neat, computerized weapons to strike back.

The game is a revamped port of the original release that dates back to 1997 for the Sega Saturn. An English version was never announced until now and is only being localized for North America. The updated port features brand new battle animations, 30 additional demons to collect, a new opening video and a full English voice cast. Pre-ordering the game sets you up with an arranged soundtrack, composed by long-time Atlus composer, Shoji Meguro.
