From trade days to music and dance, June is jumping here in Huntsville. Here is a look at your week ahead here in Huntsville for June 2cd through June 8th, 2014.
RYLAND TRADE DAY will be this Saturday, June 7th, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. This event was originally scheduled for May 17th, but was rained out on that date. The location will be Shiloh United Methodist Church at the corner of Dug Hill Road and Ryland Pike east of Huntsville. Vendors will be selling everything from antiques to furniture to clothing to household goods. Breakfast and lunch will be available for purchase, and there will also be a bake sale. Proceeds benefit the women's group at Shiloh UMC.
HAMACON will celebrate its fifth year of Japanese Anime in Huntsville at the VBC South Hall from Friday, June 6th, through Sunday, June 8th. Visit their website for more information.
MAJESTIC MINERALS rock and mineral collection on display at Burritt on the Mountain in conjuction with the TREASURE HUNT AT GOLD MOUNTAIN event. Burritt on the Mountain teaches students what role gold and mineral mining has played in Alabama history.
TOUCH OF RED GALA will be presented by the American Red Cross on Friday, June 6th. It will be held at the VBC North Hall.
JIM PARKER'S SONGWRITERS SERIES will be held Saturday, June 7th, in the VBC Playhouse. Tickets range from $20 to $25.
