Shia LaBeouf in a paper bag: Performance art or pure attention seeking?

Shia LaBeouf donned a paper bag on the red carpet of the Berlin Film Festival. The recently retired actor put on this sartorial statement for the premiere of "Nymphomaniac: Part 1" on Feb. 9.

So, by doing so, was this thespian providing performance art as well as being where he was supposed to be when he was supposed to be there?

Certainly, Shia had a reason to wear a paper bag on his head. After all, the very same brown head gear relayed a message, spelled out in capital letters to say in black paint, "I am not famous anymore." He has been writing this very same slogan on his Twitter account a lot lately, so it must mean something important, at least to LaBeouf.

OK, so the 27-year-old hasn't been the best role model for his role as a person lately due to copyright infringement claims, but the "Transformers" star is still among the celebrated for his work as an actor.

That said, Shia LaBeouf in his paper bag fashion on the red carpet for the "Nymphomaniac" premiere at the Berlin Film Festival has become a fashionista that isn't going to take his lack of fame, as perceived, lying down. After all, he's straight as a pin as he walks the red carpet for the big event. That's something, isn't it? After all, he does seem to be going in the right direction.
