On July 11th Sheryl Crow will be performing under the Gateway Arch at the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial in St. Louis, Missouri. The concert is an all star concert event that is being sponsored by Pepsi and by Major League Baseball. Fans of Pepsi, MLB and of Sheryl Crow will be pleased to hear that the concert that Ms. Crow is headlining is for FREE and benefits Stand Up to Cancer, an organization dedicated to finding a cure.
Fans heading out to the show and watching the live stream on the MLB website will be encouraged to send in donations to help Stand Up to Cancer fund research to find a cure for cancer. During the concert the feature event will be Major League Baseball's $1 Million dollar donation to Stand Up to Cancer.
Sheryl Crow is familiar with many different cancers because of her battle with breast cancer in 2006 and because of her relationship with Lance Armstrong, toure de france winner and cancer survivor.
Other sponsors of the charity concert benefit will be Budweiser, Sharp and Taco Bell. All fans heading to the concert will be treated to a live airing of the Cardinals vs. Chicago Cubs baseball game on FOX. The game will be aired on big screen televisions at the location of the concert.
The concert will also be bringing awareness to the "United We Serve", a program encouraging all American's to be a part of building a sustained and meaningful community. The focus will be on the environment, health care, education and community renewal.
Recycling bins will be placed around the arch grounds by Pepsi and Aquafina while the Major League Baseball Green Team will be collecting recyclable bottles and cans during the show. Sheryl Crow spoke about teaming up with the MLB, “I am honored to team up with Major League Baseball to come home and perform a free show that will support Stand Up To Cancer, an organization with the noble and ambitious goal of eradicating all forms of cancer. The dedication of Major League Baseball to being a part of the environmental movement gives me the chance to put on a show while supporting two causes that I feel strongly about.”
