Sheryl Crow and Lance Armstrong were together in a relationship from 2003 to 2006 and engaged to be married. Crow appears to have compassion for her ex-fiancé, but how much did she really know about the doping scandal? According to what 'Entertainment Tonight' revealed on Jan. 22, it is probably more that we will ever know.
Crow told 'Entertainment Tonight' that it's
"got to be really hard to walk around knowing that you're not telling the truth about something. I think that honesty is always the best bet and that the truth will set you free," she added. "To carry a weight like that around would be devastating in the long run…I always contend that the truth is the best way to go."
In an interview with Oprah Winfrey last week, Lance admitted he had used performance-enhancing drugs for all of his seven Tour de France wins. He blamed responsibility on his "ruthless desire to win at all costs" for directing him to cheat and endeavor to cover his lies up for a great many years.
According to Celebuzz, Crow was listed in affidavits that were submitted to the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency last year. When Armstrong teammate Frankie Andreu and his wife Betsy, were requested to contradict that Armstrong had admitted to physicians in 1996 that he was using the drugs, Crow was in the room. The Grammy winner has been fairly quiet since the explosive report became public about Armstrong's fall from grace. Last year, she told Katie Couric that she "felt bad" about what he was going through.
