According to GigaOm on Sept. 30, on Google Glass, an already existing app becomes a better version of itself. On Monday, Sherwin-Williams launched it's ColorSnap app for Google Glass. The app, which has been available on phones and tablets, allows users to use a photo to general paint color inspiration. The app will draw the colors from the original photo and give paint samples back.
A press release notes that the company that created the app, Resource Labs, released the world's first Google Glass application for a major consumer brand with this app.
Kevin C. Tofel tested the app out on his Google device and seems impressed with the products. He states, "I tested it out and got solid color recommendations of Sherwin-Williams paint in under 30 seconds." Using a personal photo, Tofel then received a corresponding paint palette from the colors the app was able to pull from the photo. The app will then provide the exact numbers of the paint to make purchasing even easier.
Tofel notes this app has been around before, so it isn't unique to Google's wearable tech. However, he notes that "the app on Glass is a perfect example of how technology gets 'out of the way' with well-designed wearables."
